Who Am I?

Thank you, for asking

Sean “Yeti Trax”

Whether on foot, ski, or bike, I find my home in the alpine wilderness. The rhythm of climbing through snow, ice, and rock is a meditative experience, a chance to connect with the unique spirit of each mountain. From the rugged peaks of the Eastern Sierra to the beauty of the Cascades, and of course my home in the Tahoe basin, these high places not only refresh my spirit, but are essential to my well being, offering priceless rewards after the effort of the ascent.
My upbringing, with a mother that was a backcountry ranger with the US Forest Service, and a father who was an incredibly skilled sustainable farmer, instilled in me a profound respect for wild spaces from an early age. This has translated into a deep commitment to the responsible stewardship of our wilderness, open spaces, and natural resources. My goal is to help others understand that the preservation of these areas is a shared responsibility, ensuring their continued enjoyment for generations to come.

Personalized Approach

Nearly three decades in Lake Tahoe has provided incredible opportunities for alpine recreation and personal growth. A severe mountain biking accident, where I shattered my ankle alone in the backcountry, taught me the importance of preparation and resilience. My EMT training was crucial in that moment, and the experience solidified my ability to remain calm and provide care in chaotic environments—a skill that also informs my creative process in writing, art, and photography. The Tahoe backcountry, especially the peaks surrounding Emerald Bay, and the Eastern Sierra, has become my stomping ground, and I am grateful for the chance to share it with others.
